Discount Cruises will act solely as your booking agent, you must make sure that you have read and understood the full terms and conditions of the cruise line with whom you have booked. These booking conditions listed below are available during the booking journey on this website, they can also be found within the cruise line’s brochure, website, or other literature. These will be the terms and conditions that will apply to your booking.

Please be aware of the following booking terms for Discount Cruises on-line bookings. It is important that you read these.

Payments

The deposit/payment requirements for your chosen cruise line will be advised at the time of booking. If you have paid a deposit at the time of booking, your balance amount and due date will be advised on your booking confirmation and via the ‘My Trip’ section which is accessible at the top right-hand side of the website. In some cases, the full cost of any flight element may be payable at the time of booking. We only accept credit and debit cards as methods of payment when using this website. We do not accept American Express. Balance payments can also be paid by bank transfer, please contact us for more details.

Your Financial Protection

Discount Cruises when selling travel arrangements is a trading name of The Midcounties Co-operative Ltd. Discount Cruises is an Accredited Body Member of Midcounties Co-operative Travel Consortium. (ABTA P8298, ATOL 6053). We are a Member of ABTA which means you have the benefit of ABTA’s assistance and Code of Conduct. Some of the flights and flight-inclusive holidays on this website are financially protected by the ATOL scheme but ATOL protection does not apply to all holiday and travel services offered on this website. This website will provide you with information on the protection that applies in the case of each holiday and travel service offered before you make your booking. If you do not receive an ATOL Certificate, then the booking will not be ATOL protected. If you do receive an ATOL Certificate but all parts of your trip are not listed on it, those parts will not be ATOL protected. Liability

All bookings accepted by Discount Cruises and arrangements made are subject to the booking conditions applicable and published in the relevant cruise line/principal’s brochure, website, or other literature. All tickets issued by Discount Cruises are done so in their capacity as retail agents for ATOL holders, upon the express condition that Discount Cruises are not liable to any passenger for loss, damage, delay, injury, cancellation, or any additional expense, incurred by any passenger whatsoever, or any cause beyond the control of Discount Crusies or any of it's agents, representatives or officials. The total liability of Discount Cruises shall not exceed the total payment received from the client in respect of any booking.

Names

Please ensure that the spelling of all names exactly matches the passport you will be travelling with. Changes to names once your booking has been confirmed will result in a charge by the cruise line, these charges will be laid out in their booking conditions. If you have made a mistake with passenger names, please contact us as soon as possible. Some cruise lines may require a notarised letter as proof of consent for children travelling with adults with different surnames.

Age Restrictions

Some cruise lines featured on this website are for adults only, your booking will be rejected if the cruise line age threshold has not been met for all passengers. Some cruise lines require at least one adult of 21 years of age in each cabin, in some cases the cruise line will automatically cancel your booking down if this requirement has not been met. If payment has been taken, we will refund you for the rejected booking.

Documentation

You will receive an immediate confirmation by e-mail if your cruise has been successfully booked with the cruise line, you must read this documentation thoroughly and report any discrepancies immediately. If you do not receive a confirmation, check your junk folder, if you still can’t locate your booking confirmation, contact us as soon as possible and do not book any other related travel until you have spoken with us. Even if you have received you booking conformation, we strongly recommend that you do not book any related travel until you have viewed your booking on the cruise line’s own booking management portal.

Assuming your booking has been paid in full your tickets will be available approximately 2-3 weeks before your cruise departure date. Information on how to download and print your tickets is usually available on your cruise line’s website. Some cruise lines will send your tickets to us, we will the forward them on to you, if this is the case, we will advise you of this on your booking confirmation. Some luxury cruise lines send tickets by traditional mail, we will advise you if that is the case.  

Cabins

If your booking has been made on a “guarantee” basis (sometimes shown as GTY) meaning that you have been guaranteed a particular grade of stateroom or higher, we will notify you of your cabin number upon receipt of this information from your cruise line. A particular cabin grade does not necessarily guarantee a particular deck or cabin type, merely an obligation by your chosen cruise line to allocate you the booked cabin grade or higher as per the cruise line’s cabin categories which can be found in their brochure/website. Once a cabin has been allocated you may still be upgraded prior to your departure at the discretion of the cruise line. We do our best to highlight obstructed or partially obstructed cabins throughout the booking journey, however you should always check your chosen cabin grade against the cruise line’s website or brochure before committing payment and confirming your booking. Discount Cruises accepts no liability for inaccurate or incomplete data supplied to our website by cruise lines.

Onboard Credit/ Spend

If your booking includes Onboard Credit / Spend, the amount will be confirmed on your booking confirmation. Amounts can vary by cabin type, grade and fare code chosen at the time of booking. Currencies may vary by cruise line and the ship’s geographical deployment.

Free Car Parking / Coach travel

If your booking includes free car Parking or coach travel you will be asked to book this directly with the car park or coach company, often there will be a deadline to do this which we will advise you of at on your booking confirmation. Discount Cruises takes no responsibility for booking these extras, it is your responsibility.

Drinks Packages

When drinks packages are offered either as a promotion or at a reduced rate, it is your responsibility to familiarise yourself with the inclusions of the package with the cruise line. Discount Cruises has no say in or takes no responsibility for these inclusions. When selecting to book a fare that includes a drinks package, all guests within the cabin must take choose same drinks package fare. When children are booked on a drinks package fare, a soft drinks package will generally be offered.

Gratuities  

 If your booking includes pre-paid gratuities, this will be documented on your booing conformation. If not, you will be subject to the cruise line’s service charge, commonly referred to as gratuities. Generally, these are added to your onboard account daily and settled prior to disembarkation. If you do not wish to pay the recommended charges you should speak to guest services as early as possible and ask for them to be removed.

Dining

If you were asked to choose a table and/or table; size at the time of booking, we will pass that information to your cruise line, however these choices are always on a ‘request’ basis. The cruise line will do what they can to accommodate your request, but they are not guaranteed.

Special requests

We will pass on any special requests to your cruise line, either at the time of booking or prior to your departure. The cruise line will do what they can to accommodate your request, but they are not guaranteed.

Ammendments

Your cruise line reserves the right to make changes to your booking in line with their booking conditions. Discount Cruises takes no responsibility for changes made by your cruise line. You should refer to their booking conditions for their amendment policy. If you wish to amend your booking it will be in line with the cruise line booking conditions. Discount Cruises reserve the right to charge an additional £25 per person as an administration fee to carry our changes on your behalf with the cruise line, this is in addition to any price increase and/or charges levied by the cruise line.

Cancellations & refunds

If after a deposit is taken, the balance is not paid by the designated time, Discount Cruises reserves the right (after due notice to the client) to cancel the booking, and all deposits and assurances will be forfeited. Any charge imposed by the cruise line to cancel the booking, will be the responsibility of the customer. In addition, Cruise Circle will levy a cancellation charge of £50 per booking. Cancellations will only be accepted by e-mail from the lead passenger to hello@discount-cruises.co.uk Cancellations will only be considered received between 09.00-17.00 Monday to Friday (bank holidays excluded). Any discounts offered by Discount Cruises will be forfeited when cancelling your booking. Any refunds due will be processed as soon as monies are received from the cruise line.

Travel Insurance

It is a compulsory cruise line booking condition that all passengers have adequate insurance cover. Obtaining suitable travel insurance for your cruise is solely your responsibility. Your insurance policy must include medical cover for COVID-19. Failure to obtain suitable travel insurance may result in boarding being denied.

Passport/Visas

Your passport must have at least 6 months validity from your return date of travel. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your passport is valid for all countries visited whilst on your cruise, and any subsequent pre/post cruise stays or stopovers. Where relevant, you must also ensure that the correct visas for all countries visited are obtained before travelling. This is your sole responsibility. Important: EU countries no longer accept any additional months added to your passport during the renewal process. You must check the issue date when considering the 10-year validity rule.  Further information on passports can be found by visiting www.passport.gov.uk

Visa Requirements & Travel advice

Medical Conditions & Pregnancy

It is your responsibility to advise us of any medical conditions, pregnancy, disabilities, or impediments that could affect your ability to complete your travel arrangement. You must also advise us and your insurer of any changes to your health that occur between booking your cruise and departure. If you fall pregnant between booking your cruise and departure you must advise us and your insurer. Most cruise lines have strict guidelines in place for cruising when pregnant, generally as soon as you enter your 24th week of pregnancy you are not allowed to sail.

Inoculations and disease prevention

You are fully responsible for arranging all necessary inoculations and/or disease prevention medication for all the countries you visit whilst on your cruise. These must be organised in advance, and within the recommended time frames prior to your departure. We recommend that you check with your GP practice or a travel health clinic for up-to-date health and vaccination requirements for your chosen destinations prior to booking your cruise.
